Our Beginning
The Purpose Church (TPC), began with Elders Andrea and Anthony Gates hosting a bible study at the MLK Community Center in Hueytown, Alabama. After six months of hosting study sessions, TPC officially launched in May of 2018. On the first Sunday, approximately 25 new partners joined TPC. We continued faithfully at the MLK Center until the March 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic hit and caused us to hold services virtually for several months. By this time, TPC had grown to almost 200 faithful partners. During the pandemic, TPC planted themselves in their present location in Pleasant Grove, AL by combining and renovating two commercial suites to accomodate their growth. Even though the pandemic caused us to regroup, and refocus, TPC never missed a beat and we returned back to in-person worship in a new space with new momentum, and ignited passion. God has been faithful to us from day one. What He ordains He also funds and validates with His favor. Now, since June 2023, we occupy a totally renovated over 12,000 square foot campus on 5.9 acres of land.
Our Mission
& Purpose
The Kingdom assignment of The Purpose Church is to teach the uncompromising Word of God with clarity, understanding, and power. It is our mission to help believers discover their God-ordained purpose, teach them to walk in their destiny, and as their lives are changed, they will be instrumental in transforming the lives of others. We believe in ministry to the whole man, body, soul, and spirit. We endeavor to teach biblical principles that cause the manifestation of biblical promises, and by faith we take hold of every benefit that is made available to the believer by the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Our
Vision
Our vision is to transform lives for the purpose of raising up kingdom minded believers, who then go out and become change agents in the earth (lightcarriers). Our assignment is to provide an atmosphere of balance and ministry that reaches multiple generations. We commit to ministry that reaches beyond the four walls of our church edifice and transcends to our schools, communities, and our nation.
